Magick up your Content & Creation Process.
There really are easier, more sustainable ways to craft content & copy.
Does Content Creation feel sustainable?
If not, incorporating these 4 little trinkets will help a LOT.
You don’t have to make yourself cray-cray!
Even if your process is smooth, these will help lower overwhelm, and produce better content.
Witchy Tip #1 — Use the 3 Energies.
There are consistent energies we use in the Creation Process, regardless of the creation.
It is a different energy to become the CREATRESS, versus to be the CRITIC.
So consider these as you structure your time:
- CREATRESS: Idea generation, Creative Flow, No rules, No limits — is inhibited by the Critic.
- CRITIC: Editing, Cropping, Cutting, Making succinct, “Boiling down” — is stressed by the Planner.
- PLANNER: Scheduling, Logistics, Strategically sharing work — is impatient with the Creatress.
And the thing is — You need ALL three!
At times you will be the juicy idea generator, and at others, the merciless content cropper.
You want your ideas to be BOLD, captivating, limitless. But! You also want them to be communicated succinctly, clearly.
You must also engage the aspect of strategically considering the best time and method to share the work.
When you try to be all three at once, it’s overwhelming.
Luckily, we can structure our time so there is devotion to one energy at a time, such that you can “batch create, batch edit,” etc.
Smarter, not harder.
When we craft things by Energy, we can tap into our divine natures as Creators without being impeded by the naturally occurring Critic.
And when the time comes to outsource, you’ve already set yourself up perfectly!
Witchy Tip #2 — Start at the end.
This is known in the NLP world as “Reverse Imagineering™”
In this particular usage, starting at the end can fall under the PLANNER’s realm.
But since there is also Visualization involved, there is a dash of CREATRESS energy too.
Knowing where you want to end up makes it easier to proceed.
It really helps to have a clear understanding of the goal of the project or content.
Is this designed to educate? To warm an audience? To convey your expertise?
- What do you want the audience to walk away feeling?
- What do you want the audience to walk away and DO?
And, based upon these intentions, how can you utilize your CRITIC to ensure the information has been clearly conveyed?
Do you need to make it briefer so it’s easy to digest?
Do you need to boil it down to make it more succinct?
Can you pretend you’re paid by the shortage of words needed to get your point across?
Now that you know the purpose of the work, what must it entail?
Witchy Tip #3 — Create a magickal “Fairy Net.”
How many brilliant ideas “disapparated” into the abyss of busy?
The older I get, the more it happens.
Laundry goes in at noon – and gets remembered at 3 am.
We don’t necessarily have the bandwidth to retain genius notions throughout a day.
We have to capture the thing, in the moment.
Brilliant, juicy ideas are like playful little fairies that may flit across the brain.
It’s not like they have the patience for us to get through grocery shopping before we put them down on the page.
So take your Fairy Net – aka, your Notes App, your pen and paper, your Siri text-to-self, and get it while it’s hot!!
I use “Hey Siri” to send myself good ideas so frequently that Siri came on while I tried to explain this in today’s vid!
Whatever your method, keep the proverbial notebook handy, particularly during times like post-meditation, Hypnosis, shower, nap.
You will often find genius strikes when your brain is relaxed or relaxing. (There are neuro-scientific reasons for that!)
And that is of course, one of many reasons I recommend Hypnosis as a valuable creativity tool.
Capture your fairies efficiently, and when you do this consistently, you begin to train your brain on when it’s “safe” to do its conjuring.
You also make the creation process much easier on yourself.
Because by the time you sit to do your blog, the juicy ideas are already there in the Notes App.
Make it EASY.
Let your CREATRESS mind do the work when she can, then you can just sit with your CRITIC for editing.
And let the PLANNER top it all off with the logistics at the end.
By that point, you don’t have to stress anymore about being creative and coming up with something genius, because you already capitalized while things were flowing.
What did you take away from this?
How can you apply it to your Content & Marketing practices?
Get creative with it!
